Naval Kindergarten Kochi was started in 1953, in the Barracks of INHS Sanjivani with the strength of just 30 students. Late Mrs Emily Pappaly was the founder headmistress. Under her tutelage, the school blossomed into a prestigious pre-primary institution of learning, especially for the small children of the Naval fraternity. She discharged her duties as Headmistress for a period of 30 years (01 June 1952 to 31 July 1982) and the school trail blazed to excellence.
On completion of 67 years of excellence this premier educational institution has grown from strength to strength and now has 25 sections and 700 students. Come March 2020, 49,300 children would have crossed the portals of Naval Kindergarten (K).
The school now functions under the aegis of Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, Kochi/ INS Venduruthy. Commanding Officer, INS Venduruthy is the Chairman of the School Management Committee.
